What:

I3 Investigate! Invent! Innovate!

Invention Convention is a chance for up and coming young inventors to showcase months of hard work. The 4th annual event is the culmination of the I Cubed school program where students identify a problem in their own life and then invent a product based on concepts they learned in class to solve their problem. Since January, over 1600 Grade 7 and 8 students from three school boards have worked closely with their teachers to turn their ideas into reality. Over 800 of these students will display their work at the event. Examples of the inventions include: a toothpaste gel cap, which guarantees the perfect amount of toothpaste each time you need to brush; an all-terrain skateboard with a caterpillar track for rough ground and skate blades for icy conditions; and a sleep sleeve - a tongue-in-cheek design, which enables the wearer to take a nap anywhere, even in class.

The program is sponsored by The Learning Partnership, a national non-profit organization dedicated to championing a strong public education system across Canada through innovative programs and public engagement.
