What:

Queen Elizabeth School hosts Middle East in Transition Video Conference - with a live connection to Palestine, Tunisia, and Egypt

This video conference will provide students with a unique educational experience, helping shed light on the complexity and humanity of the history that is taking place in this region every day.

This session will also look at the underlying trends that caused recent uprisings, both in already transitioning countries (Egypt, Libya and Tunisia) and those on the verge of transition. In addition, there will be discussion on key events of the last forty years, which have led to these historical movements.

 
When:

Wednesday, April 13 from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

The series will continue on April 21 with a look at student-driven ideas about the priorities these new governments need to set.

 
Where: Queen Elizabeth School, 9425 - 132 Avenue
 
Who: About 500 students will participate via video conference (VC) and live webcasting from around the world. The Centre for Global Education is hosting this event in collaboration with TakingITGlobal and the Research Journalism Initiative.
