The ninth annual Aboriginal History Quiz kicks off on Monday, April 11 at Prince Charles School. The event, a fun twist on the popular game show Jeopardy, will see 164 students in Grades 3 to 6 compete against one another in their grade levels while testing their knowledge of Aboriginal literature, arts and crafts, Inuit people, historical Aboriginal Canadians and Métis people.
On Thursday, April 14, at 9 a.m., the school will wrap up the week long event with an awards ceremony featuring performances by the Nikamosisak Choir (including a Cree, French and English rendition of the national anthem); the Prince Charles Guitar and Fiddle Group; and the Prince Charles Jiggers. Colton Bear, an amazing Grade 5 fiddle player will be joining the Jiggers during their performance.
The students and staff will also be joined by Sharon Pasula, Métis Nation of Alberta; Doug Elniski; MLA Edmonton-Calder; and Inspector Stewart Callioux of the Edmonton Police Service.
