On Thursday, January 27, Avonmore School's Nellie McClung program is hosting a science fair which will feature over 100 projects designed entirely by students in the all-girl junior high program. The projects will be judged by volunteers from the scientific community, including staff and students from the University of Alberta and organizations such as APEGGA. Top projects will advance to the Edmonton Regional Science Fair in April where Avonmore School has enjoyed much success, presenting high quality projects.
The students in the Nellie McClung program have been encouraged to design their scientific experiments about topics that interest them. The goal is for the students to gain a better understanding of the scientific method.
