On Friday, November 26, over 250 students from Youngstown and Belmont Schools will participate in a travelling Advent Pageant, hosted by the Youngstown Logos Christian Alternative Program.
The students will leave Youngstown School (10330 - 163 Street) at 10:45 a.m. and walk to nearby businesses in West Edmonton. Students depicting Mary and Joseph will be seeking lodging at various 'inns.' A Master of Ceremonies and students will also be telling the story of Mary and Joseph's journey to Bethlehem.
At 11:45 a.m. the group will return to Youngstown School and gather in the gym to participate in festivities celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. The Giving Tree Story will be shared and all participants are encouraged to put a food bank item under the tree.
Fusion, an international youth and community organization, is sponsoring the pageant. The organization has over 250 staff and thousands of volunteers in 45 teams and centers across the globe. Fusion's services focus on community building and finding a sense of purpose. In the Youngstown/Britannia neighbourhoods, Fusion representatives Paul Robertson and Jocelyn Hansen are actively involved in many community projects.
