Edmonton Public Schools Foundation hosts Mad Hatters Tea Party to celebrate Full-day Kindergarten Program

On Wednesday, November 3, the Edmonton Public Schools Foundation is hosting a Mad Hatters Tea Party to celebrate its success in bringing a full-day Kindergarten classroom to Tipaskan School. A group of 25 students will now benefit from this full-day Kindergarten program through generous contributions made to the Foundation.

The Mad Hatters Tea Party takes place at Tipaskan School (1200 Lakewood Road North) from 9 to 10:15 a.m. and includes a visit with Mrs. Loney's full-day Kindergarten classroom as well as a tea party and tour of the school.

Situated in the Mill Woods area, Tipaskan School serves a socially vulnerable community and has a diverse group of students who will significantly benefit from this early learning program.

The Edmonton Public Schools Foundation was launched February 10, 2010, for two main purposes: to spread the word about the great things happening in the public education system and to support Edmonton Public Schools across Edmonton. The Foundation does this by providing opportunities for friends and funds to support early learning intervention and student success. Research shows children develop the foundation for strong communication skills, literacy, social competence, numeracy, adaptability and physical health as early as age three.
