T.D. Baker School continues to raise funds for breast cancer research

On Monday, October 4 at 2:15 p.m., T.D. Baker School, 1750 Millwoods Road East, is hosting a head shave to support the CIBC Run for the Cure. A student, whose mother survived breast cancer, will be shaving the principal's head.

This is T. D. Baker Schools' third year participating in fundraising for the CIBC Run for the Cure. During the month of September, all 600 students and 45 staff members have been involved in a variety of fundraising activities, with the intent to increase awareness of breast cancer.

Activities to raise funds have included a hat day; bake sales; after raising $5,000 - a staff makeover by students; and a leg shave by male staff members.

In addition, approximately 125 students, staff, parents and community members will be participating in this year's CIBC Run For The Cure on Sunday.

To date, the school has raised over $11,000, with a three year total of over $25,000! All of these events have contributed to tremendous school spirit, interest in this community event and this health issue.
