OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST VISITS LAGO LINDO SCHOOL

On March 18, Olympic athlete and former student Shannon Szabados made a special visit to Lago Lindo School. Shannon won a gold medal as goalie for the Canadian Women's Hockey team at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics.

Students and staff have cheered Shannon on ever since she was named to the Women's National team in December. Students have followed Shannon's journey, prepared presentations as class assignments and believe she's a great role model. The school welcomed Shannon back with an assembly where she shared her Olympic experience, watched a video from the games and answered students' questions. The teachers feel this opportunity has truly inspired their students to believe anything is possible.
