Good Things Are Happening
MILLWOODS CHRISTIAN SCHOOL RAISES FUNDS AND SPIRITS FOR THEIR SERVICE TRIP PROGRAM
Eighty-four students from Millwoods Christian School will participate in the school's Service Trip Program this year by completing service projects in the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Belize. These Grade 9 to 12 students volunteer on projects that include building homes for families in Vicente Guerrero, Mexico; painting a school and running basketball clinics for impoverished children in Puerto Plata, Dominican; and restoring a playground in Orange Walk, Belize.
To help raise funds for the trip, Millwoods Christian School students will host their annual Auction and Dessert Night on Thursday, November 26 from 6:30 to 10 p.m. This event will take place at the Woodvale Golf Club (4540 - 50 Street) and will feature live and silent auctions. Please join the students and staff as they work together to fulfill their fundraising goal.
It is the goal of Millwoods Christian School to keep the trip program accessible to all students, regardless of socioeconomic status. To facilitate this goal, students are responsible for paying approximately 30 per cent of their trip cost. The remaining 70 per cent is raised by the students in a variety of campaign and service initiatives. The fundraising goal for 2009-10 is $175,000.For further information, contact:
