Good Things Are Happening
CELEBRATING 20 YEARS OF READ IN WEEK AT EDMONTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS!

Edmonton Public Schools is proud to be a part of the 20th annual READ IN Week taking place October 5th to 9th. This year's theme, Books are windows on the world was inspired by the idea that books have the ability to open the past, present and future or wherever your passion takes you.

District schools have invited many special guests to visit classrooms and share their love of reading throughout the week. The following guests will be reading on Thursday, October 8:

  • Board Chair Don Fleming will read at 10:30 a.m. at Queen Alexandra School (7730 - 106 Street).
  • Board Vice-Chair Sue Huff will join Meadowlark School in costume (9150 - 160 Street) for their annual READ IN Week 'Story Book Fashion Show' at 12:30 p.m.
  • Janice Sarich, MLA for Edmonton-Decore will read at 1:30 p.m. at Evansdale School (9303 - 150 Avenue).
  • Rachel Notley, MLA for Edmonton-Strathcona will read from 12:30 - 1:00 p.m. at Queen Alexandra School (7730 - 106 Street).
  • Kim Krushell, Edmonton City Councillor will read at 1:00 p.m. at Evansdale School (9303 - 150 Avenue).
  • Carly Schubert from the Humane Society will read from 9 - 10:00 a.m. at Evansdale School (9303 - 150 Avenue).
  • Aboriginal Liaison Rosalie Cardinal will read at 9:30 a.m. at Evansdale School (9303 - 150 Avenue).
  • Aboriginal Liaison Hazel McKennitt will read at 10:30 a.m. at Evansdale School (9303 - 150 Avenue).
