Good Things Are Happening
EDUCATION MINISTER TO VISIT HISTORY CENTRE

On Monday, September 21, from 2 to 2:45 p.m., Education Minister Dave Hancock will be visiting the History Centre at Queen Alexandra School (7730 - 106 Street NW). Mr. Hancock will observe Grade 5 students from Mount Pleasant School engaged in activities from the Grade 5 Social Studies curriculum.

The History Centre at Queen Alexandra School is designed to support the knowledge outcomes of the Social Studies curriculum. Sessions offered at the centre provide teachers and students a unique opportunity to experience Alberta's and Canada's history through the stories of those who were there. The First Nations, explorers, fur traders, Métis and early pioneers all come to life through a variety of resources such as letters, personal memoirs, newspapers, photographs, artwork and artifacts. The Centre also allows students and teachers to access the resources and research techniques used by historians, archivists and curators.
