Good Things Are Happening
QUEEN ELIZABETH SCHOOL HOSTS NATIONAL VIRTUAL REMEMBRANCE DAY CEREMONY
On Friday, November 7, from 10:30 to 11:20 a.m., Queen Elizabeth School will host a trans-Canada Remembrance Day Ceremony with Canadian troops in Afghanistan via live video-conference. Other schools participating are located in Newfoundland, New Brunswick and Ontario.
The ceremony is a celebration of the work and sacrifices made by past and present members of the Canadian military. During the ceremony, students will have the opportunity to ask the troops in Afghanistan what Remembrance Day means to them as they serve.
Part of the ceremony will feature a discussion between a girl living in Ottawa and her father who is currently serving in Afghanistan. They will be speaking about what Remembrance Day means to them as a family.
