Good Things Are Happening
QUEEN ELIZABETH SCHOOL HOSTS VIDEO CONFERENCE FOR HOPE: GUATEMALA
On Wednesday, November 5, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., approximately 50 schools from around the world will come together through the third annual Video Conference for Hope.
Kindergarten to Grade 12 students in Edmonton and as far away as Macao, China and Sydney Australia, will connect via live video conference with an indigenous group in the highlands of Guatemala. Through this connection, students will learn how the choices they make everyday impact the real lives of young people in developing countries. The Video Conference for Hope is working in partnership with Change for Children to raise $50,000 towards the construction of a school for disadvantaged children.
The day will be split into elementary, middle and secondary sessions. More information about the sessions is available at www.vcforhope.ning.com.
Change for Children supports sustainable, community-led development in the Global South and encourages Canadians to play an increased role in working for peace, democracy, human rights and a more equitable world.
