Good Things Are Happening
S. BRUCE SMITH STUDENTS THINK PINK

At 1 p.m., Thursday, May 29, S. Bruce Smith School will be awash in pink as students and staff present a cheque for $6,000 to Tammy MacDonald, founder of the Hair Massacure. The money will be split between the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Stollery Children's Hospital.

Students held a number of fundraisers throughout the month of May including the sales of ice cream, pink hand-crafted bracelets, ribbons and t-shirts. In addition, six staff members agreed to shave their heads if students met their fundraising goal. Students have paid $5 to enter for the chance to shave a teacher's head. Some students will also have their heads shaved while others will dye or put pink streaks in their hair.
