RESULTS OF PUBLIC BOARD MEETING TO CONSIDER RECOMMENDED CLOSURES

Schools closing
At tonight's public board meeting, the Board of Trustees voted to close Ritchie and Woodcroft schools. The closures will take place at the end of the current school year.

The Board voted as follows:

• by a majority vote (6 to 3), the Trustees supported the recommendation to close Ritchie School; and
• by a majority vote (5 to 4), the Trustees supported the recommendation to close Woodcroft School.

A letter to parents of the students attending the two schools, informing them of the outcome of the vote, will be sent home tomorrow.
