Good Things Are Happening
LENDRUM SCHOOL STUDENTS PERFORM PHYSICAL THEATRE WITH TRICKSTER THEATRE
On Friday, November 9 at 1:15 and 7 p.m., students from Lendrum School will hold a one hour performance of physical theatre pieces developed with Trickster Theatre as part of the school's Artist-in-Residence program. The theme of the project is Coming Together, and features performances dealing with friendship, colour and exploration. Each performance will incorporate a different style of physical theatre such as: blacklight, noodles, nets and shadow. Students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 have been involved in a week-long series of workshops in preparation for the performances.
The Artist-in-Residence program is funded by the school's parent advisory council and a grant through the Government of Alberta.
Trickster Theatre has been working in Alberta Schools since 1980, providing a variety of in-school performance and residency programs. They are a physical theatre company, which means the physical component of the performance is developed before the dialogue and plays a more important part.
