CENTRE HIGH CAMPUS CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF SUCCESS
Edmonton Public Schools' Centre High Campus is hosting its annual Career Directions event and 10 year anniversary on Wednesday September 26, 2007. This event is designed to celebrate the important role partnerships play in public education.
Centre High Campus is focused on preparing students for post-secondary studies and/or the world of work. Our focus on Career Development will ensure that every student who attends Centre High has access to information and strategies which will assist them in preparing for their future.
The program will include greetings from Don Fleming, Trustee, Edmonton Public Schools; and Michael Walter, Acting Assistant Deputy Minister, Learning Supports, Alberta Education. An anniversary presentation will be followed by a career fair where students can meet with post-secondary institutions, attend info sessions and ask questions about career choices.
In addition, a number of scholarships and awards will be presented:
Centre Highs interest in the trades and enthusiasm toward community involvement has lead to the development of numerous partners with industry and business. Through these partnerships students are able to learn on the job site with the latest technology. Partnerships with Xerox, Edmonton Motor Dealers Association, Canadian Military, Fire, Police and EMS are some of the many real life experiences provided to students while they complete their core courses.
