ABBOTT SCHOOL HOSTS THE CLIMB FOR KIDS KICK OFF

Climber Wally Berg will be speaking to students at Abbott School about his June 22 trip to Mount Kilimanjaro as part of the The Sun's Climb for Kids, which benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton. Berg will be joined by Elizabeth O'Neill, Executive Director, Big Brothers Big Sisters Edmonton, Jim Rudolph, Manager, Corporate Communications, Edmonton Airports and Jim Barr, Co-chair, The Sun's Climb for Kids.

Approximately 40 Grades 4 and 5 students will listen to Berg speak about what is involved when attempting to climb a mountain of this size. Students will also have the opportunity to see animals indigenous to the area around Mount Kilimanjaro, thanks to the Edmonton Valley Zoo. A full school assembly will be held after this special one-on-one session.

Climb for Kids directly helps Northern Alberta children by providing the community with an opportunity to "pledge a foot" and help raise this charity to new heights. One hundred per cent of pledges raised will go to the Big Brothers Big Sisters In-School Mentoring Programs.
