Robert Munsch stories come alive at Menisa School
Students at Menisa School have been working with a group of professional actors through the Quest Theatre's Artist in Residency program. On Friday, March 16 at 1 and 7 p.m., the students will bring to life some of history's most enduring stories written by well known children's author Robert Munsch such as Mud Puddle, Mortimer, Pigs, Millicent and the Wind, The Dark, I'm So Embarrassed and The Paper Bag Princess.
Quest's Theatre has a background of 18 years of experience, 70 productions, 6,250 school performances and visits to 940,000 students.
The Alberta Foundation for the Arts (AFA) supports arts residency programs in Alberta schools through the Artists and Education project grant program. The Artists and Education program enables schools to bring professional Alberta artists into their classrooms for residency programs ranging from one to thirty days in length. Arts residencies encourage students' creativity in fine arts and non-fine arts subjects. Visual artists, actors, dancers, musicians, writers and storytellers have been all been involved in AFA funded residency programs throughout Alberta.
