New opening date for Lillian Osborne High School

Due to the extreme shortage of construction workers in Alberta, Edmonton Public Schools anticipates that the construction schedule for the new Lillian Osborne High School will be extended by approximately six months. Because moving students to different facilities mid-year is likely to cause significant disruptions to learning, the opening of the new school (which will be built in Edmonton's southwest) will be shifted from September 2008 to September 2009.

The revised schedule will not affect the facilities or programs being developed and all students will be accommodated in existing schools. Once open, Lillian Osborne High School will help to provide much needed space and educational opportunities for the city's southwest communities. The district will continue to communicate with parents, community members and schools as they work through the new schedule.
