Read In Week at Edmonton Public Schools - October 2 - 6

Edmonton Public Schools is pleased to be a part of the annual Read In Week from October 2 to 6. Each year, Read In Week reminds us of the importance of reading with our children to develop a lifelong love of books. The Read In theme this year, Reading Crosses Cultures, reflects on how readers can learn about and appreciate other cultures.

District schools have invited many special guests to visit classrooms and share their love of reading throughout the week. Guest readers include dignitaries such as the Lieutenant Governor, MLAs, City Council members and Edmonton School Board Trustees as well as representatives from the Edmonton Fire and Police Services, Edmonton Eskimos and many media personalities.

On Wednesday, October 4, from 2:30 to 3:15 p.m., Superintendent Lyall Thomson will be reading to Grade 2 students from Victoria School of the Performing and Visual Arts on the stage in Eva O. Howard Theatre.
