Long Service Recognition Night

On Thursday, February 17, Edmonton Public Schools will be recognizing a group of dedicated district employees at the annual Long Service Recognition event being held at the Winspear Centre (9720 - 102 Avenue) from 7 - 9 p.m.

This year, the 337 recipients being honoured have a collective of 9,840 years of experience with Edmonton Public Schools. These individuals, from all staff groups, are celebrating their 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 and for the first time, 50 years of service.

Hope Knudsen, a teacher from Harry Ainlay School, is the first district employee to be recognized for a career spanning 50 years. Hope began her career at Eastglen School and has spent 30 years teaching at Harry Ainlay School. Generations of students have benefited from her love of being a teacher and there will be a special presentation to acknowledge her dedication and hard work.

In addition to Hope's milestone, eight employees are celebrating 40 years of service and two are celebrating 45 years of service.
