Brander Gardens students celebrate the gift of giving at City Hall School

Beginning Monday, February 14, the Grade 3 class from Brander Gardens School will be attending City Hall School. The students will gain an understanding of municipal government through simulated City Council sessions, a visit to the Mayor's office and by interacting with councillors.

On Monday, February 14 between 1:45 and 2:30 p.m., the students will be bringing a little love to City Hall. The 19 students have made valentines - one for each Councillor and the Mayor. The students will have an opportunity to personally present their valentines to the Council at the adjournment of Monday's Public Hearing.

On Wednesday, February 16 at 10:30 a.m., the class will be touring Mustard Seed Edmonton. They will be bringing over 20 winter backpacks for those in need that the entire school helped to fill. The backpacks contain items such as a pair of gloves, a toque, a scarf, two bus tickets, soap and much more. The backpack project is part of the school's character education program.
