Hillcrest School celebrates community spirit

On Tuesday, December 7 at 12:15 p.m., Hillcrest School is hosting a holiday luncheon for their students. The grad committee from Jasper Place High School is supplying the turkey, ham and potatoes, and everything else is being brought by Hillcrest students. Members of the grad committee and the administration from Jasper Place will help to serve the Christmas feast.

Hillcrest School is focused on building community spirit with their students. This year, they have raised thousands of dollars for the Terry Fox Foundation and cancer research; hosted a Read-a-thon so students could choose new books to purchase; have rallied to collect food bank items for those in need over the holiday season; and are delivering homemade baked goods to their neighbours who border the school as part of the Hillcrest Greeting project.

As Hillcrest teachers work to instill in their students the spirit of community, they also recognize the importance of coming together and sharing with one another. This Hillcrest holiday luncheon is a perfect example of this focus.
