Good Things Are Happening

What: MULTICULTURAL DAY AT BANNERMAN SCHOOL
Students will be celebrating various cultures, learning Ukrainian and Bollywood-inspired dance steps, exploring the fine martial art of Tai Chi and making bannock in the traditional Aboriginal way.
 
When: Friday, April 30 from 9:20 a.m. to 2:35 p.m.
9:20 a.m. - Opening ceremonies include Kindergarten - Grade 2 classes singing Hello to all the Children of the World.
10 - 2:10 p.m. - Cultural sessions
2:15 - 2:35 p.m. - Closing ceremonies include Grades 3 - 6 classes singing It's a Small World as well as a choir performance and a schoolwide "Toast to Tolerance."
 
Where: Bannerman School, 14112 - 23 Street
 
Why: This is a fun event that provides the students with lifelong lessons on the significance of respecting and supporting people from other backgrounds and ethnicities. Multicultural Day helps to create a school spirit that strengthens the idea of "Appreciating Diversity Close to Home."
