Good Things Are Happening
TAKE AN AUDITORY VOYAGE WITH NIGHT OF MUSIC 2010: A MUSICAL ODYSSEY

The Edmonton Public Schools Board of Trustees is proud to present Night of Music, taking place this evening at 7 p.m. at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium. The 46th annual event celebrates the important place music holds within education, learning and student culture. This year's theme, 2010: A Musical Odyssey, speaks to the fact that music is a constant companion in our life's journey - a soundtrack to our most memorable and cherished moments.

Night of Music features the talents of approximately 600 student musicians from the elementary, junior and senior high levels - led by 11 teacher conductors and 59 music teachers. This year, Night of Music is fortunate to have Cuban conductor Alina Orraca leading the Senior High Honour Choir. In addition to music, student artwork is displayed in the Jubilee Auditorium's lobby. Preparations for the event included more than two months of practice and preparation.

Night of Music is generously sponsored by Priority Printing Ltd., Xerox, Elite Lithographers and the Edmonton Journal.

Media are welcome to attend.
