Good Things Are Happening
W.P. WAGNER SCHOOL HOSTS SNOWFLAKES AND HOTCAKES PANCAKE BREAKFAST TO SUPPORT YOUTH

On Tuesday, December 1 from 7 to 9 a.m. the W.P. Wagner Graduating Class of 2010 will host their first annual Snowflakes and Hotcakes Pancake Breakfast in support of the Youth Emergency Shelter Society (Y.E.S.S.). Taking place in the school's main cafeteria (6310 Wagner Road) the breakfast will feature hotcakes, sausages, hot and cold beverages and treats. There will also be door prizes, entertainment and family fun.

Teacher Kim Hula-Hetu says, "The Grad committee wanted to do something to build a sense of community so they decided to run a fundraiser pancake breakfast. When thinking of a charitable recipient, the committee of young people chose Y.E.S.S. because they wanted to help local kids their age. In addition, there have been W.P. Wagner students who have used the services that Y.E.S.S. offers."

Since 1981, the Youth Emergency Shelter Society has provided shelter, safety and hope to thousands of homeless and at-risk youth. These youth come from every neighbourhood in Edmonton and from all surrounding communities seeking guidance, stability, and a caring environment in which to grow and achieve their goals.
