Good Things Are Happening
CELEBRATING 20 YEARS OF READ IN WEEK AT EDMONTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS!

Edmonton Public Schools is proud to be a part of the 20th annual READ IN Week taking place October 5th to 9th. This year's theme, Books are windows on the world was inspired by the idea that books have the ability to open the past, present and future or wherever your passion takes you.

District schools have invited many special guests to visit classrooms and share their love of reading throughout the week. The following guests will be reading on Friday, October 9:

  • READ IN Week Founder and Honourary Chair Esther Starkman will read to her grandchildren's class from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at Talmud Torah School (6320 - 172 Street).
  • Superintendent of Edmonton Public Schools Edgar Schmidt will read at 10:00 a.m. at Evansdale School (9303 - 150 Avenue).
  • Janice Sarich, MLA for Edmonton-Decore will read at 9:30 a.m. at Evansdale School (9303 - 150 Avenue).
  • Firefighter Rob Squire will read at 10:30 a.m. at Queen Alexandra School (7730 - 106 Street).
  • Linda Duncan, MP for Edmonton-Strathcona will read at 10:45 a.m. at Queen Alexandra School (7730 - 106 Street).
  • Citytv anchor Rob Hislop will read at 11:00 a.m. at Duggan School (10616 - 36A Avenue).
