Good Things Are Happening

'Meet and Greet' for students and staff of new southwest high school
Lillian Osborne High School community comes together for first time

On Tuesday, June 9 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Riverbend Community Hall, (259 Rhatigan Road East) Lillian Osborne High School students, their families and staff will come together for the first time to celebrate the new school's much anticipated fall opening.

Principal Janet Hancock believes the celebration is a great way to bring together the new school community, adding, "Personal connections among students and their families, teachers and other staff will ease the transition for students entering high school."

In addition to a barbeque, students, their families and staff will have a chance to get to know one another through games and activities, including a 'Name the Mascot' contest.

Lillian Osborne High School is scheduled to open its doors in September 2009. It will help provide much needed educational opportunities for 1,000 students in the city's southwest communities and will earn a silver level in LEED environmental certification.
