Keynote speaker at 1:15 p.m. is David Bouchard. David is a best selling, award winning Canadian author. His book, If You're not from the Prairie, is listed on MacLean's list of the Top Twenty Children's books in the history of Canada and three of his books appear on a Southam News list of 25 Canadian Children's Classics.

Highlands School places an emphasis on developing good readers and writers. The Highlands Young Readers' Conference is an opportunity for students to build on their love of reading and become inspired to put pen to paper and write.
