Good Things Are Happening
PRINCE CHARLES SCHOOL STUDENTS SHOP FOR BOOKS IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS

On Wednesday, December 10 from 9 to 10 a.m., 25 Grade 5 students from Prince Charles School will visit the Coles Bookstore in Kingsway Garden Mall (109 Street and Princess Elizabeth Avenue) to choose books for the school's Home Reading Program. This program provides books for students to read at home as a way of improving their reading and literacy skills.

Earlier this year, Prince Charles School received an $87,000 grant from the Indigo Love of Reading Foundation. This grant will be distributed over the next three years and will allow the school to transform both its Home Reading Program and the school library.

The Indigo Love of Reading Foundation was established in 2004 to promote early literacy by helping Canadian schools in severe need with funds for new books and other learning materials. Since inception, the Foundation has made a total contribution of $6 million, including the $1.5 million donation made to 20 schools across Canada this year.
