DISTRICT ENGAGES COMMUNITY IN NEW SKILL CENTRE
On November 12, business and post-secondary representatives met with District staff to determine the future direction of The Skill Centre. Located in Amiskwaciy Academy, the goal of The Skill Centre is to offer courses that complement the programs currently offered at the District's high schools and expose students to interesting experiences in a variety of career areas.
The Skill Centre will be a place where business and community leaders play an important role in program delivery, and where students are equipped with the skills, attitudes and abilities required to complete high school and pursue their own interests after graduation.
