Good Things Are Happening
LOCAL CELEBRITIES HELP CELEBRATE READ IN WEEK AT DISTRICT SCHOOLS

Edmonton Public Schools is proud to participate in the 19th annual READ IN Week. Each year, READ IN Week reminds us of the importance of reading with our children and helping them develop a lifelong love of books.

Many schools in the District have planned unique activities to celebrate this important week and invited special guests to share their love of reading in classrooms. At 10:30 a.m. on October 7, Satoo School (8515 - 17 Avenue) will welcome His Honour, the Honourable Norman L. Kwong, Lieutenant Governor of Alberta and Her Honour, Mary Kwong.

Guest readers in schools include dignitaries such as MLAs, City Councillors, members of the Edmonton Public School Board and media personalities.

This year's theme, Kaleidoscope of Literacy, teaches students that through shared experiences, literacy creates a kaleidoscope of new, magical, and extraordinary images of our world.

The READ IN website is located at http://www.epl.ca/readin/.
