Good Things Are Happening
JUNIOR HIGH STUDENTS TAKE A JOURNEY THROUGH ARTQUEST

From August 18 to 21, 18 students in Grades 7 to 9 will have the opportunity to work with artist Sky Glabush as part of ArtQuest, a four-day art intensive workshop focusing on landscapes. In order to participate, students had to submit a portfolio of their artwork, exhibit a desire to be an artist and be nominated by their teachers. All art supplies and materials are provided thanks to the support of the Edmonton Student Art Society. Upon the completion of the workshop, students will have their work displayed at City Hall.

Sky Glabush is an associate professor in the Department of Visual Arts at the University of Western Ontario. Glabush has had numerous exhibitions in public galleries throughout Canada including solo exhibitions at the Mendel Art Gallery in Saskatchewan, the Mackenzie Art Gallery in Regina and the University of Manitoba.

ArtQuest is sponsored by the Edmonton Student Art Society, a non-profit organization committed to fostering the artistic growth of young visual artists in and around Edmonton.

The workshop takes place from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Bennett Centre, located at 9703 - 94 Street.
