Good Things Are Happening
STUDENT FROM HARRY AINLAY TO PARTICIPATE IN THE INTERNATIONAL BIOLOGY OLYMPIAD

John Zou, a Grade 12 student at Harry Ainlay School, will participate in the International Biology Olympiad (IBO) competition being held July 13 to 20 in Mumbai, India. John is one of four individuals who will be representing Canada and is the only one Edmonton representative.

The IBO is a unique event designed to discover, encourage and challenge exceptionally gifted young students from all over the world. The event is a celebration of the best students in high school biology and over 55 countries are expected to participate this year. Every participating country sends four students, who are the winners of the respective national competitions.

Six countries, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, German Democratic Republic, Poland and the Soviet Union, founded the IBO in 1989.
