Good Things Are Happening
EDMONTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS' STAFF PRESENT AT CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY

Two staff members from the Curriculum department of Edmonton Public Schools recently spoke at Cambridge University in England. Director Stuart Wachowicz and supervisor Sandy Forster spoke at a special conference of the Association of Language Testers of Europe ( ALTE).

The two were invited to speak to over 500 international delegates on the success of Edmonton Public Schools' second language program. Specifically, they spoke about the District's work to correlate second language curriculum to targeted levels of language proficiency as defined by the Common European Framework of Reference.

The ALTE invited Wachowicz and Forster to present on how the District's second language initiative could act as an incentive for increasing second language learning in Europe.

Edmonton Public Schools was the only school district in the world represented at this prestigious conference.
