On Friday, April 25, the Watoto Children's Choir from Uganda will entertain the staff and students at Mount Pleasant School. The choir will give two performances, at 10:30 and 11 a.m.

Watoto is the Swahili word for "the children" and the choir is made up of children who are part of the Watoto program. The program provides homes and education for over 1,500 orphaned and abandoned children in Uganda. To date the organization has established three Children's Villages and is starting to build a fourth.

Accompanied by adult choir leaders, the performances is a soulful blend of African rhythm, contemporary gospel and ethnic dance. Through their music, the children share their unique stories and express their new found hope. The choir has toured internationally since 1994 and has brought messages of hope to many parts of the world.

The students at Mount Pleasant school have been raising money to help build a fresh water well a Children's Village. The Student Council will present a cheque to the choir at their performance.
