Good Things Are Happening
BELMEAD SCHOOL DONATES OVER 250,000 PENNIES FOR COPS FOR CANCER

On March 6, at 1 p.m., students from Belmead School will watch as their principal has his hair and beard shaved and a fellow student has her hair cut for donation to Wigs for Kids with Cancer.

The event is the culmination of two months of fundraising by students and staff in support of Cops for Cancer. Since January 14, students have raised over 250,000 pennies, $2,500, as part of the school's can a penny help find a cure for cancer initiative. The funds were raised through special events such as, pajama day, beach day, crazy hat day and Valentine sales.

A cheque will be presented to the Canadian Cancer Society at the assembly.
