BOARD VOTES TO CONSIDER SCHOOLS FOR CLOSURE
The Edmonton Public School Board has authorized the administration to undertake the provincial and Board mandated processes to consider the closures of Ritchie and Woodcroft schools.
These schools will not immediately close. A separate school closure process will now be implemented, as outlined in the School Act. The school closure process involves additional opportunities for public input. At the end of this process, the Board of Trustees will then vote on whether either of these schools will close.
The Board also approved the recommendation that Coronation, Grovenor and Horse Hill schools be reviewed should the Annual Implementation Plan viability benchmarks not be achieved by September 1, 2010.
