Good Things Are Happening
STUDENTS RECEIVE THE GIFT OF READING FROM CHAPTERS AND INDIGO

On Friday, December 21 at 10 a.m., students at Spruce Avenue School (11424-102 Street) will each receive the gift of a book. The books were donated by seven Edmonton and area Chapters and Indigo stores. Each participating store had a Gift of Reading tree decorated with ornaments. These ornaments were selected by staff and customers and then matched with a book.

The Gift of Reading project raised 1,500 books, which will be donated to each student at the eight City Centre Education Project schools (Abbott, Delton, Eastwood, John A. McDougall, McCauley, Norwood, Parkdale, and Spruce Avenue). The project has been in effect for three years and recognizes the importance of literacy as an essential life skill.
