Good Things Are Happening
STUDENTS WALK TO BREAKFAST

On October 23 at 8:30 a.m., the students at Montrose School will be kicking off their Breakfast for Learning program and observing International Walk to School month. The 170 students, staff and special guests will take a 30 minute walk through the neighbourhood and return to school to enjoy a healthy breakfast.

The funding for breakfast is made possible by Breakfast for Learning, Canadian Living Foundation. Grants are provided to partially fund food, equipment and program operation costs for groups who are operating breakfast, snack and lunch programs for children and youth. The Alberta Cancer Society and Alberta Milk support their work in this province.

Daily physical activity and fresh air are important building blocks for student well-being and achievement and Montrose School staff encourages their students to walk or bike to school in partnership with SHAPE (Safe Healthy Active People Everywhere). October is International Walk to School month, an annual campaign that encourages students around the world walk to school.
