Good Things Are Happening
MAJOR GENERAL GRIESBACH SCHOOL WELCOMES REPRESENTATIVE OF THE DALAI LAMA

At 9:30 a.m., on Wednesday, October 3, Kyla Bauer, a representative of the Dalai Lama, will be speaking to students at Major General Griesbach School. She will speak to students about the importance of kindness and caring among youth.

Ms. Bauer was only scheduled to speak at events in Toronto and Vancouver, but is making a special stop at Major General Griesbach School after being contacted by teacher Dallas Becker, who met Ms. Bauer while traveling through Nepal.

The event will also mark the launch of a school-wide project focusing on empathy and anti-bullying. Interested students will form a committee that will oversee a project of kindness in the community. Students will use what they learned from the assembly to talk about how they can expand on those ideas and apply them to their school and the world around them.
