Good Things Are Happening
PRINCIPAL GETS THE WORM

Earlier this school year, Bryan Evans, principal of Hillview School made a unique challenge to encourage students to read. A segment would be added to Buddy the Bookworm for every 1,500 minutes of reading done by kindergarten to Grade 3 students and every 2,000 minutes of reading done by Grade 4 to 6 students. Mr. Evans told the students that if they read enough minutes to have Buddy wind around the school, he would eat a worm.

Buddy the Bookworm winds throughout the hallways of the school representing 300,017 minutes of reading done by the students and on Monday, June 11 at 10:30 a.m., Mr. Evans will eat a fried earthworm in front of the students at an assembly.
