District Student Wins Mathematics Award

A former Grade 12 student at McNally School, David Rhee, has won a silver medal at the International Mathematical Olympiad in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

David was the top student at the 2006 Canadian Mathematical Olympiad (CMO). The CMO is the top level high school mathematics contest in Canada and David was one of only 81 students from across Canada invited to participate.

David will receive the Sun Life Financial Cup, a $2000 cheque and a subscription to a problem solving journal. In addition, McNally School will receive a plaque acknowledging David's achievement.

For the past two years, David, has been on a team representing Canada at International Mathematical Olympiads in Greece and Mexico.
